Summary expansion
The dialogues deal with Geography ("De la Geographia"), the Winds ("D'e Venti"), the Celestial Sphere ("La Sphera et di tutte le cose celesti"). The table of contents on verso of leaf 3 lists a fourth dialogue on Alexander the Great--"Sopra il fatto d'Alessandro Magno"--which is not included. A note at the end of the third dialogue (verso of leaf 127), states that the promised dialogue has not been forgotten but will appear in a second volume along with two dialogues by Franco; this volume was never published. The remainder of the Dialogi maritimi consists of marine poetry by Niccolò Franco and poems by other members of the Accademia
