Spec. Coll. copy: imperfect, includes only the seven books of Della guerra de' giudei; all else after page 434 wanting. The other works mentioned in the title are lacking: Libri due Contra Apione, e Dell'Imperio della ragione (Baldelli's Italian translation of the Fourth Book of Maccabees, previously ascribed to Josephus, which praises the supremacy of reason over passion). Bound in contemporary limp vellum binding; double-ruled gilt borders and ornamental gilt center-pieces; sewing holes along fore-edges of covers suggest earlier presence of two pairs of ties; gold-tooled cardinal's coat of arms on upper and lower covers, featuring two rosettes separated by a bend containing three fleur-de-lis; later manuscript spine title "Fl. Giusep. della guerra de Giudei; blue and white shelf-mark label at base of spine with manuscript shelf-mark in pen. In modern cream buckram slipcase. Purchase, 1994.
