Bound in 19th-century polished tan calf and brown and blue marbled paper boards; gilt spine panels; gold-stamped brown leather spine label "D. Cinus de Pistorio Super Codice. Red and white printed ownership label on upper board of the London Library, St. James's Square, stamped "Cancelled by the Committee;" small oval embossed stamps of London Library on leaves a2 and o9; printed label on front pastedown containing "Extracts from the Rules" of London Library. Extensive early annotations. Laid in: bookdealer description displaying time stamp of the law firm "Rivera Zayas, Rivera Cestero & Rua" of San Juan, Puerto Rico, dated Aug. 29, 1967; and invoice for sale of the book for 185 pounds by London antiquarian booksellers Davis & Orioli. Purchased for UCLA at the Sotheby's (New York) auction of June 13 1991 by Martin Breslauer.
