Biographical or historical data
Elisabeth Moore Hallowell Saunders (1861-1910) was an avid naturalist and prolific illustrator. In 1902, she and her husband, Charles Francis Saunders spent their honeymoon in California, and four years later, they decided to move west permanently for Elisabeth's health. They settled in Pasadena, California where Charles wrote numerous books on California and the Southwest, many of which were illustrated with photographs taken by the couple during their extensive travels to those areas.
