Augusti

  • Woodcuts: title vignette of a battle scene, within 4-panel frame featuring leaves, flowers, urns, and putti; two additional large woodcut vignettes within decorative frames: one is the title-page battle scene repeated at head of "De bello Gallico;" the other, at head of "De bello civili," depicts a seated Lentulus addressing a group of men, presumably the Senate, with caption "Lentulus" in the block (this latter cut was apparently used here for the first time); 12 smaller woodcut vignettes at head of each book within those sections; two large and numerous smaller historiated white-on-black initials
