  • Reinterpretation by Barbara Hodgson of the dissolving picture, a creation of German printer Ernest Nister, dating from around 1890. This version, based on the kaleidoscope, consists of an image in a circle which can be changed by sliding a tab to reveal another, previously hidden, circle. The changing images display a range of pastel colors, based on the palette of the Russian avant-garde artist Mikhail Matiushin; see p. [2] of text
