The pamphlet contains descriptions of 13 national parks: Yosemite, Sequoia, General Grant, Lassen Volcanic, Crater Lake, Mt. Rainier, Glacier, Yellowstone, Teton, Carlsbad Caverns, Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce. Accompanying each text are small drawings printed in green and black, and black and white photographic reproductions of scenes from the parks; helpful notes about the tourist season at each park, months of operation, and types of accomodations available are printed along bottom of each page. At the end is a descriptive checklist of national monuments, such as Canyon de Chelly in Arizona; Muir Woods, Death Valley, and Pinnacles in California; Bandelier in New Mexico, and Arches in Utah. Verso of front cover contains "Map showing locations of national parks and national monuments in the West," and inside back cover is a page of tips to national park motorists
